Extending the period of Renewing Fire Arm Licenses for the year 2021
Though the period during which the fire arm permits had to be renewed for the year 2021 was due to terminate on 31.12.2020, the relief period which was given to the permit holders to renew the fire arm permits without charging any fine till 28.02.2021 due to the covid -19 epidemic in the country will be extended up to 31.05.2021 and I kindly inform to take actions accordingly.

While The Independence day celebration of the Kurunegala District Secretariat along with a tree planting programme, a Sramadhana campaign, a blood donation campaign in the Red Cross Association hall were held headed by Mr. R.M.R.Rathnayaka, the District Secretary of Kurunegala and with the participation of the officers of the District Secretariat and government institutes, a programme of establishing a herbal and fruit garden in the Manapaha Kumbukwawa Sri Bodhimalu Temple where Rev. Ragama Sugathananda resides was held headed by Mr. G.A. Kithsiri, the Additional District Secretary of Kurunegala and with the participation of the officers of the District Secretariat and government institutes on behalf of the 73th National Independence Day.
Renewing fire arm licenses for year 2021 in terms of the provisions of the sentences 05(1) and 23(3) of the Fire arm Ordinance, 07-12-2020
The period which had been given to renew the fire arm licenses for year 2021 has been extended till 28.02.2021. So the District Secretariat announces that the fire arm holders can renew their licenses without any fine.
Also it informs that it is sufficient to get the medical certificate (H - form) that should be forwarded to renew the fire arm licenses from any government physician or a physician whom has been registered under the Medical Ordinance.
Task Force on the Suppression of Covid-19 Virus Spread, 20-03-2020
The Kurunegala District Secretariat has commenced work on 20.03.2020 to limit the spread of the Covid-19 Novel Corona virus. Initially, information was collected from migrants who were the main cause of the spread of the virus in the Kurunegala district.
Also, all necessary officers in the Kurunegala District Secretariat are coordinating with Divisional Secretariats on the instructions of Mr.R.M.R. Rathnayake, the District Secretary /Government Agent.
